Case study · Built with Claude Code

We gave a startup the look of a marketing giant.

KameleonFX outgrew its WordPress template before it outgrew its first office. Here's the custom, AI-built site we shipped instead.

Meet KameleonFX

A scrappy startup with big-brand ambitions.

KameleonFX is a young marketing and FX startup — a WordPress store, a small team, and ambitions far bigger than its template let it show. They wanted to look established from day one, without committing to tools and fees built for a company they hadn't become yet.

The name is a play on chameleon — a brand literally about adapting and transforming. Their template couldn't adapt. So we built something that could.

The problem

Templates couldn't keep up.

Templates felt generic

WordPress themes were boring and didn't match the bold, shape-shifting vibe the brand was named for.

Subscriptions before traction

Template and page builders wanted a recurring monthly fee — a hard sell for a startup that didn't yet know how far the project would go.

No room to grow

Off-the-shelf builders box you in. KameleonFX needed something that could evolve as the business did.

“They wanted to look like a true, fancy marketing company. The template made them look like everyone else.”

The approach

Our first build with Claude Code.

This was Realmdrop's first project built with AI-assisted development. We're honest about that — because the real story is the impressive one: AI-accelerated, human-directed.

With AI in the loop, we delivered a fully custom, hand-tuned site without the time and cost a from-scratch build usually demands. Custom quality, at template speed — the best of both worlds.

What we built

A custom site, not a theme with their logo on it.

The smart part

We kept their WordPress as a headless CMS — so the team still writes blog posts and manages contact forms in the familiar WordPress dashboard, but the public site is a fast, custom-coded experience. They didn't lose what worked; they shed what didn't.

Custom homepage with scroll-triggered animations
Services page with interactive detail modals
Headless WordPress blog (keeps their content workflow)
Contact + lead-capture forms wired to their existing tools
Light / dark mode throughout
Fully responsive, mobile-first

Under the hood

Enterprise-grade engineering, startup-friendly footprint.

React Router 7 + TypeScriptFast, modern, reliable — fewer bugs, better SEO.
Tailwind CSS 4Pixel-perfect custom design, not a locked theme.
Headless WordPressKeep the easy content dashboard, ditch the ugly template.
Docker + GitHub Actions CI/CDPush a change, it's live in minutes — automatically.
Self-hosted on their own VPSThey own everything. No platform holding their site hostage.
We needed to start talking to clients fast. In three days we had branding, a logo, and a finished site — headless WordPress, so we're never boxed in by template fees or stale design.
